~TALK TO ME TUESDAY-APRIL 29, 2014~

MY INTERVIEW WITH MAREE CHEATHAM (ex, Marie Horton, Days)

Hi Maree and thank you for joining us! For those who do not know, what are you working on now?

  • I am working on two ongoing TV shows these days, SAM & CAT for Nickelodeon and HART OF DIXIE for CW.

I play the wacky red-headed grandmother of the wacky red-headed Sam Valentine (Sam of SAM & CAT).

On HART OF DIXIE, I play the wealthy southern matriarch who doesn't mind giving everyone a piece of her mind. As Lemon's grandmother, I hold the purse strings in the family, a delicious place to be.
  •

You have had several soap roles. What was your fave?

My favorite role is always the one I'm playing currently, but I've really loved Stephanie on SFT and AUNT CHARLENE on GH and of course MARIE HORTON on DAYS. All for the obvious reasons

What advice would you give to up and coming actors?

My advice to up and coming actors is save your money when you're working and work like heck at working! Do theater, train and catch up on social media. The networks do!

Thanks Again Marie!  All the best to you! xoxo

ME AND JACOB IN 2011 AT THE LAST AMC FAN CLUB LUNCHEON

        Q1)
How has the cancellation of AMC affected you?

it's always sad to watch a show go off the air. The All My Children casts was tight. If not for the show going of the air I would not Get to play Rick

What would you do if not an actor?

Q2) if not an Actor, probably music, but I do have other business's so I'm sure if find plenty of work.

Congrats on B&B and reprising Rick Forrester. What are the similarities and differences between JR and Rick?

Q3) Rick and JR share similarities. First off both executive types, but there are many more differences for sure. JR was cutthroat. He may actually cut your throat.

Q4) Are you working on any other projects?

Q3) I am currently producing a reality show with Adam Gregory that we have very high hopes for. Also Adam and my self are producing a short  film. We would send it to various festivals around the world.

Thank you so much Jacob for joining me on the Spiel!  Best to you and your family always!

        ~TALK TO ME TUEDAY-APRIL 15, 2014

MY INTERVIEW WITH ERIC NELSEN (EX-AJ, AMC)

Congrats to the both of you on your marriage. May you have many years of happiness! xoxo Welcome to the Spiel!

         thank you SO much :)

How has the cancellation of AMC affected you?

I think it's effected us all the same way. It was news no actor ever wants to receive and made me extremely sad. However, it's opened a lot of new doors and has brought a lot of positive buzz to my name. So I will always be grateful to AMC for taking a chance in me.

Would you consider doing another soap?

Absolutely. I love the family dynamic it allows the actors to create. I love the speed and how impulsive it forces you to be as an actor as well. Sign me up!

What were the similarities or differences between you and AJ?

Unlike AJ, I have had no problems expressing my feelings for the love of my life. I am fortunate enough to have found her in my wife and will cherish my relationship with her forever. One similarity I find with AJ though would have to be his devotion for his friendships and longing to help other people.

        What sports are you into?

HOCKEY! Basketball (Miami Heat baby!) and football…although my teams haven't been so hot the past few hearts.
        Hide message history

        Any future projects?

'14 is going to be a big release year for me. I have a number of films premiering this year including, A Walk Among the Tombstones in which I act alongside one of my favorite actor in the world, Liam Neeson. Make sure to check it out in theaters September 19.

For those who do not know what you are working on now, do tell.

Hi! So excited to be apart of this interview! I am playing "Becky" in the new FX pilot- Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll with Denis Leary, John Corbett, Liz Gillies and Elaine Hendrix. I play Liz Gillies best friend on the show :) we had our first day of filming on Monday... The show is gonna be GREAT! Tune in :)

What would you be doing if not an actor?

Umm... Probably own a candy shop. I would love to be like Dylan Lauren who is the CEO of Dylan's Candy Bar!

I would do this anyways (even as a actor), but definitely can't wait to be a mommy one day!

What are the similarities or differences of your character so far?

Similarities- Becky is a fun, bubbly girl moving from her hometown to New York and figuring out things on her own!

Differences- B is super naive and not very cultured ... Wait till you hear some of the lines... She's a hoot!

Would you ever do a daytime soap?

YES YES YES!!!! Eric & I would love to do one together. Emma Lavery & Aj Chandler hint hint haha. There is nothing more special & fun than working with your husband every day. That would definitely be our dream.

I know some fans would definitely love that, including myself! Best of luck in your marriage and career! It was my extreme pleasure to meet you and I have found a new friend! You are beautiful!

        ~TALK TO ME TUESDAY-APRIL 1, 2014~

MY INTERVIEW WITH MICHAEL CARUSO (DeVANITY)

Welcome to The Soap Spiel, Michael! Thank you for being here!

Thank you for having me! I always love talking to fans of DeVanity and answering their questions.

For those that do not know, what projects are you working on now?

I am the creator, writer, and executive producer (I know, it's a lot of hats) of DeVanity which is an online soap opera I created, in which I also happen to play Jason DeVanity. He's the head of a powerful jewelry company in Downtown Los Angeles. We are almost finished airing our 4th and final season, and then I'm off to work on a friends project, and then after that I'm going to take a small break and start work on my next series which will be another soap opera.

What do you do for fun when you are not working?

I love spending time with my wife and our 4 dogs. Barbi (my wife) and I enjoy driving to Santa Barbara for the day, or hiking in Malibu. I love going to the zoo, and to the movies. We also love cooking at home, and crashing out in front of the TV. We don't get a lot of down time so we take it when we can get it.

What are your thoughts on daytime series vs. web series?

I've never worked in Daytime before, so I can't answer from that perspective, but as a viewer and from what I've been told by our veteran Daytime guest stars the big difference is time. We shoot DeVanity more like a movie than a traditional soap is filmed so we have more time to work the scenes. I would also say the pacing is much different. There are fewer episodes so there is a lot more action and information conveyed over a smaller period of time whereas in Daytime it is much more spread out. Either way a great story is a great story, and there is room enough for everyone, so I am a big supporter of both daytime and web series. Having Daytime Soaps as well as web soaps is vital to helping keep the genre alive.
