Happy Hump Day!!

Hi all!

It is bright and early on the Hump Day and I am rearing to go!

I have been loving the soaps lately (who am I kidding, as usual). There are some things I could do without on all shows, but I will not dwell on that.

I wanted to officially say goodbye and good luck to now ex-Days star Alison Sweeney. All the best to you and your family! Thank you for your reign as Sami Brady!

• I am on a new reality show called Queens of Drama with 5 other soap opera actresses. Vanessa Marcil, Donna Mills, Lindsay Hartley, Crystal Hunt, Hunter Archila and myself have a few weeks to put together a primetime show. It will air in 2015 on POP Network, which was formally known as TV Guide Network. I am excited about being apart of the project. The point of the show is for the 6 of us women to create a primetime TV show that we want to create giving us the power we want to have in the entertainment business.

• I am really excited about the screening of Steps of Faith here in Los Angeles on Nov. 9th at the International Family Film Festival at 12pm. This is the role that when I got the script, I was like- Yes, this is me. And this is the first film that I was so proud of my work on screen.

        MY INTERVIEW WITH AMANDA BAKER (EX-BABE CHANDLER, AMC)

Hi Amanda and thanks for joining me on The Soap Spiel!

Thanks for having me!

Congrats on your marriage and birth of your baby boy. How has that been like so far?

Thank you! It's been so amazing! My son, Wilder, is 6 months old and he's sitting up on his own, smiling, and giggling all the time. My husband and I are loving every minute of it! It's such a fun age.  Would you do another soap again?

Of course! I have such wonderful memories of being on GH and All My Children. You become very close with your co-stars and the storylines are always fun. The characters I've gotten to play have been so interesting and layered. I'm always open to playing other characters.  Are you currently working on anything?

Currently, I'm doing mostly commercials and really spending a lot of time with my son. He actually just got an agent as well, ha ha! I'll be driving him to auditions soon enough!  I am sure he will be a natural like his mother!

Guilty pleasure?

Ooooh, I'd have to say watching all of the "Real Housewives" shows. There's something about them that just suck me in!  How has the cancellation of AMC affected the soap world in your opinion?

It's sad to see so many soaps off the air, especially AMC. AMC was one of the best and it was on the air for such a long time. The fans were really loyal and amazing and I know there are many people, including myself, who wish they would bring it back. Hi Emily! Thanks so much for joining me here on the Spiel! Also, happy birthday!!


Please Tell us a little about yourself.

Hi guys! First off, thanks for interviewing me. Well, I'm Emily, but everyone calls me Em. I'm 17, today actually, and I'm a high school senior. I sing and act, and I co-host Weekdays with Murph with my best friend Cody. I live in Tennessee, and my part time job while I'm in school is answering the phone at my dad's office. I'm really girlie, everyone calls me a Princess because I always, for the most part, have my hair and makeup done and I don't like to get dirty or hot. The Southern heat makes me ill. I'm really close with my Grandparents and my Grandmother and I talk every single day multiple times. I love my TV shows and I'm a dedicated fan to all my favorite actors and shows. 

How did you get started on Weekdays with Murph?
Well, it's actually a funny story. Cody and I met on twitter, and he tweeted to me and said I should check his show out. At first, I kinda thought he was one of those crazy twitter spammers, but I learned that wasn't true really fast. I listened to a few shows and DMed him and said that since he loved GH so much, he should do a weekly recap. He decided to do it, and that first week he did it, I called in. It was a hit, and the rest is history.

Guilty pleasure?
Hmmmm, Law and Order re-runs, M&Ms, and mid afternoon naps.

ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS, DAWN HENNESSEY

Hi Dawn! Thank you for joining me on The Soap Spiel. It is an honor and pleasure to have one of my best friends in the world here.

Which events did you go to at the GHFCW?

Brian Craig, and Kelly Thiebaud event, Teresa Castillo, and Emme Rylan event, Main Cast event, Jason, and Dominic event, and The Karaoke event.... 

What was your favorite event at the GHFCW?

I gotta say the Karaoke event was by far the highlight of the weekend. If they have it again next year I'm definitely attending. 

There must have been lots of people there, Did you get to meet everyone you wanted?

Yes the whole weekend jammed packed with soap stars. I got to see everyone I wanted too...

Any moment during the weekend stand out to you?

Yep, meeting Ryan Carnes twice was what stands out to me. First encounter he thought we met before. He said to me "You look very familiar have we met before?" I told him "No, but I've tweeted to you." Second encounter he totally remembered my name and that made me feel good and he autographed 2 photos for me and on one he wrote all my love, and on the other photo he wrote Thanks for the love...

Amazing! So glad you had fun. Next year, I hope to join you! Thanks again Dawn! xoxo
